A centerpiece or serving piece.

These bowls are as much an exercise in throwing as trimming. After thrown, they are turned upside down about half dry and spun on the wheel much as on a lathe, while I hold a sharp tool and peel mounds of clay ribbons away to shape their undersides. The result is a narrow foot and a base that lifts and throws shadows from underneath. A striking silhouette.

Measurements vary slightly and are approximate by unique piece as follows

I- 7” across, 3 1/2” high

II- 7” across, 3” high

III- 7 3/4” across, 2 1/4” high

IV- 6 1/2” across, 3” high

V- 7 1/4” across, 2 1/2” high

VI- 6 3/4” across, 2 3/4” high

Made using commercial stoneware clay. Glazes developed and produced in-house. Washing by hand recommended. The bottoms of every pot are sanded smooth to protect your furniture.
