LULA Pottery is Carisa Miller and a dozen chickens in a backyard garden pottery studio since November 2018.

Photos and videos of potter (and chickens) in action are rampant and strangely popular on Instagram and are accompanied by a good bit of observational humor and neurodivergent (AuDHD) commentary.

They, along with several other humans, cats, dog, and a colony of honeybees reside in southwest Portland, Oregon-U.S.

Carisa’s work is minimal, prioritizing form and function. Lines are clean, and surface decoration scant. The pieces create an organic impression by utilizing black, locally produced stoneware under neutral tones of semi matte glaze formulated in-house. The pots are meant to blend into their surroundings as quietly beautiful, intimate and essential companions.

Pots are available for sale online (with in-studio pick up and worldwide shipping) several times annually (early, mid, late year) and at a few rotating in-person art festivals and open studios..

The calendar page will tell you when and where.

Online shops tend to sell out within a couple days, (once within a half hour). You can sign up to get an email with a link at the time of shop openings.

$5 of every sale over $35 from LULA Pottery goes directly to the Natural Resources Defense Council. See the giving page for details.

Bulk orders within the existing line of designs are occasionally available on a limited basis, mostly dependent on timing. Inquire by email carisa@lulapottery.com (or click that little envelope icon at the top right of your screen.)
