I play favorites when I’m choosing mugs to ship with orders and which ones to take to shows, and eventually I end up with a collection of perfectly good pieces that are maybe just off round, or the handle is slightly out of line, or the shape is less uniform, or the glaze pattern came out “extra” organic. I’m too hard on these mugs and I’d to give them a home so I’ve paired them up and marked them down.
These original mugs are designed with personal preferences in mind. (Mine, but also maybe yours.) The handles provide a ledge for your thumb that falls into an arc and pushes against your palm, for a neutral wrist position when carrying a fresh, hot cup. When your drink cools to drinking temperature, the slight taper of the mug from base to rim, and finger sliding room under the handle, allows for wrapping your hands around the body for an easeful hold.
Measures 4” tall & 3 1/2” at the base. Holds 16 oz
Each piece of LULA Pottery is made by my hands, and you should expect to see natural variations brought about by human touch.
Made using commercial stoneware clay. Glazes developed and produced in-house. Washing by hand recommended (but I run everything in the dishwasher with environmentally conscious detergents). Microwavable. The bottoms of every pot are sanded smooth to protect your furniture.
